The 2025 Community-Wide Lunar New Year Celebration with Detroit Pistons Set to Dazzle and Unite the Region

[Detroit, Michigan] --The highly anticipated 2025 Community-Wide Lunar New Year Celebration with the Detroit Pistons will take place on Jan. 31, 2025, at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, marking the 9th year of this vibrant and influential event.

The celebration is the largest and the most recognized Lunar New Year event in the region, brings together community leaders, business professionals, elected officials, and families to honor cultural diversity, community excellence, and shared traditions.

This year’s festivities include:

  • 6:30 PM: Center Court Performance — A spectacular showcase of Chinese and Asian cultural traditions through music, dance, and art, capturing the essence of the Lunar New Year, followed with High Five Tunnels and Anthem Buddies.
  • 7:00 PM: Pregame Ceremony — Recognizing individuals and organizations making exceptional contributions to the community, highlighting their impact and commitment.
  • 7:30 PM: The Detroit Pistons take on the Dallas Mavericks, offering fans an exhilarating conclusion to the evening. Also, an opportunity to go on Pistons Court after the game to shoot a free throw

“This celebration represents the strength of cultural unity and the power of community,” said Lisa Gray, the chair of North American Chinese Coalition (NACC). “We’re proud to partner with the Detroit Pistons for the ninth year to honor achievements, share traditions, and bring people together in the spirit of the Lunar New Year.”

The event serves as a platform to celebrate the richness of Chinese and Asian cultures while fostering collaboration and understanding across communities. The Lunar New Year Celebration has consistently drawn thousands of attendees, making it a cornerstone event for the region.
