U.S. APEC 2023 Host Year Minority-Owned Business Roundtable

The U.S. APEC 2023 Host Year Minority-owned Small Business Roundtable was meaningful and successful. Attendees included Black, Arab, Hispanic/Latino, and Asian Pacific American and women business groups and diverse stakeholders in economic development, including state and local governments, from across the city of Detroit and the State of Michigan. The roundtable was hosted by Global Ties Detroit to learn from their agendum, inputs, and best practices to create a more inclusive, innovative, and interconnected business ecosystem through APEC - Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation.

U.S. Senior Official for APEC Matt Murray, International Trade Administration Deputy Assistant Secretary for Asia Pamela Phan, and Special Representative for Commercial and Business Affairs Dilawar Syed at the U.S. State Department presented #USAPEC2023 priorities, federal resources and initiatives for trade facilitation, and commercial diplomacy objectives and how a whole of government approach works to implement the #USAPEC2023 goals for minority- and women-owned small businesses, the lifeblood of the APEC region economy.
